Concert Photos: Last chance to order

Monday (2/28) is the last day to order Concert Photos of your student. 

If you would like to order, please print the order form and return it to a Band Director.  Please e-mail Mrs. Dunning (storiesbyjd@sbcglobal.net) if you have any questions.

Solo & Ensemble Update

We are still in need of Solo & Ensemble Volunteers!  We are close, but need just a few more people to help monitor rooms.  It's easy - just keep the halls quiet and collect judge's score sheets!


Also - Please encourage your students (even if they are not participating in the festival) to attend the "Best in Room" Honors Recital which will occur at 1pm in the Auditorium.  This features the students selected by the judge as the best students they heard all day.  Admission is free, and students will receive awards points if they attend.

2. Remember to come out to the Buffalo Wild Wings on Wednesday, 2/16.  A portion of the profits from your meal will be donated to the band!  Present this coupon to receive credit for our students!
3. We are in need of MANY volunteers to help with Solo & Ensemble Day this Saturday.  We need parents to monitor rooms, take score sheets from judges, and keep the halls quiet.  (Most people get some quality reading done while volunteering!)  Time slots are: 8-9:30am; 9:30-11am; and 11-noon.  Please e-mail Mrs. Hamilton (hownkris@comcast.net) if you can help with one or more time slots.

Photos Available tonight

The following is a message from Mrs. Dunning regarding Band Photos:   To the Parents of Freshmen and Juniors, and those that pre-ordered portraits.   Pictures are In!   And, we are happy to say that in addition to the pre-orders, we had enough time to photograph all of the freshman and junior students the day we did our formal concert portraits  - so even if you didn't order portraits you may still be able to get them.    5x7 prints with be available at this concert for viewing and purchasing! Make sure you stop by the photographer's table before or after the concert to check them out.   You won't want to miss seeing these, they are not your typical school pics, these are studio quality portraits. If you like what you see, you may purchase the 5x7 print right away for $15 or place an order for a package.     If you pre-ordered, your prints and your complimentary free 5x7 will be waiting for you at the concert - check by the table.    Money is due at the time of the order.   For your convenience below are the prices - remember that 20% goes back to the band so not only do you get great portraits but your band benefits as well.   5x7 print at concert- $15 additional 5x7 prints - $15 Photo File package - 5x7 plus printable file - $35 8x10 - $25 11x14- $40

CORRECTION: The date for the February Band Booster Meeting is Tuesday, 2/8 (TONIGHT).  This was incorrect on the previous e-mail.  All other dates posted were correct.  Please see the corrected announcement here.

Happy February!  Hopefully you have managed to dig out from under the snow!  Here are some announcements:

1. Schedule -
   2/8 - Extra rehearsal for Concert Band A, 6-9pm
   2/8 - Band Booster Meeting, 7:30pm
   2/10 - Mid-Winter Band Concert, 7pm
   2/15 - SPC Honor Band Festival (selected students only)
   2/16 - Buffalo Wild Wings Fundraiser #2!  (see below for info)
2. Please join us for our February Band Booster meeting at 7:30 tomorrow (Tuesday).  We are always looking for new and multiple opinions!
3. Mid-winter Concert - Please come join us to see the hard work of our students at 7pm on Thursday in the auditorium.  Call time for students is TBD and will be announced in class.
4. Mark your calendars for our second Buffalo Wild Wings Fundraiser on Wednesday, 2/16.  Last time we made of $500 and had a great time!  Present our coupon when you order and a portion of the profits will come back to the band.  (This is the BWW on the north side of Plainfield.)
